Description

There is something satisfying about an AR that hits with .308 authority, and the Diamondback DB10 delivers it without the bulk or price tag you might expect from a big-bore AR. Diamondback machines these rifles in their own CNC facility in Florida, starting with forged 7075-T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers and a 16 inch light-profile barrel cut from 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel. The black nitride finish keeps that barrel protected inside and out, and the 1:10 twist stabilizes the full range of common .308 bullet weights, from lighter varmint loads up to heavy match and hunting ammo.

Why the DB10's Mid-Length Gas System Matters

Plenty of .308 ARs run carbine-length gas and beat you up for it. The DB10 uses a mid-length gas system, which softens the recoil impulse and helps the rifle cycle smoothly without feeling overgassed. Behind that, a shot-peened, magnetic particle inspected mil-spec 8620 bolt carrier handles the workload. The A2 flash hider threads on at 5/8×24, so swapping to a brake or suppressor mount down the road is simple.

Set Up the DB10 Your Way

The 15 inch free-float M-LOK handguard covers nearly the full length of the barrel, giving you room for a bipod up front, a light, and a comfortable extended grip position. The flattop upper ships without sights, so plan on adding your optic of choice. A low power variable is a natural fit here, though a red dot works fine if you keep things inside 200 yards. Magpul's MOE carbine stock adjusts from 31.125 to 33.75 inches overall, and the MOE-K grip keeps the controls right where your hand expects them.

A .308 That Earns Its Keep

At 8.2 pounds, the DB10 carries well enough for hog hunts and deer season while staying steady on the bench. The Flat Dark Earth furniture over black hardware gives it a clean two-tone look that stands out from the usual all-black rack. With a 20-round Gen M3 PMAG in the box, this rifle is one optic away from doing real work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Diamondback DB10 come with sights or an optic?

No, this DB10 ships optic ready with a bare A3 flattop upper and no iron sights. The full-length Picatinny rail up top gives you plenty of real estate for a scope, red dot, or LPVO. Most folks pair a .308 like this with a 1-6x or 3-9x variable to take advantage of the cartridge's reach.

How does the recoil feel on the DB10 in .308?

It is noticeably more manageable than most bolt guns in the same caliber. The mid-length gas system spreads out the recoil impulse, and at 8.2 pounds the rifle soaks up a good bit of energy on its own. The A2 flash hider handles muzzle flash, and if you want even softer shooting, the 5/8×24 threads make adding a muzzle brake easy.

What magazines does the Diamondback DB10 accept?

The DB10 uses SR-25 pattern magazines, which is the most common .308 AR magazine standard. It ships with one 20-round Magpul Gen M3 PMAG, and spares are affordable and available just about everywhere. Other SR-25 pattern mags like Lancer L7 units generally run fine in it as well.

Is the DB10 a good hunting rifle?

It is a solid pick, especially for hogs and deer. The .308 Win chambering handles medium to large game cleanly, the 1:10 twist stabilizes heavier hunting bullets, and the 16 inch barrel keeps the package handy in a blind or thick brush. Semi-auto follow-up shots are a real advantage when hogs come through in groups.
