Description

The Trek-22 takes the most familiar rimfire action in America and folds it into a bullpup chassis, and the result is a rifle that makes a lot of sense the moment you pick it up. You keep a full 18-inch free-floated steel barrel for velocity and accuracy, but the overall length drops to just 26.5 inches, roughly ten inches shorter than a standard carbine. At 4.8 pounds it rides in a pack, behind a truck seat, or on a sling all day without complaint. Desert Tech built its name on bullpup precision rifles, and that experience shows in how balanced and natural this little rimfire feels on the shoulder.

What Makes the Trek-22 Different

Bullpup triggers usually get a bad rap, so Desert Tech addressed it head on with a straight blade trigger and a reduced pull weight in the neighborhood of 3.5 pounds. Paired with the free-floated barrel, it breaks clean and lets the rifle shoot up to its potential on squirrels, steel, or paper. The chassis is molded from impact-resistant glass reinforced polymer, tough enough for real field use, and the full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail up top handles anything from flip-up irons to a scope. Thirteen M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions plus integrated sling studs cover lights, bipods, and slings without any extra hardware.

Feeding and Suppressing the Desert Tech Trek-22

Since the heart of this rifle is the proven 10/22-pattern action, it feeds from standard rotary magazines as well as larger aftermarket mags, and one 10-round magazine comes in the box. The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28, so spinning on a rimfire can takes seconds, and a suppressed bullpup .22 this short is about as quiet and handy as rimfire gets. The stock also accepts bull barrels up to .920 inch in diameter, so there is room to grow if you catch the upgrade bug.

For small game hunting, teaching a new shooter, or keeping a capable rimfire stashed for the road, the Trek-22 in black is a smart, compact take on a platform everyone already trusts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Desert Tech Trek-22 accept standard Ruger 10/22 magazines?

Yes. The Trek-22 is built around a 10/22-pattern action and feeds from standard rotary magazines as well as larger aftermarket magazines. It ships with one 10-round rotary mag in the box, and the chassis keeps all the factory controls where you expect them.

Is the Trek-22 suppressor ready out of the box?

It is. The 18-inch barrel comes threaded 1/2×28, which is the standard pitch for rimfire suppressors, so you can thread a can right on. Given the short 26.5-inch overall length, it stays remarkably compact even with a suppressor attached.

How does the trigger feel on a bullpup like the Trek-22?

Better than you would expect. Desert Tech uses a straight blade trigger with a reduced pull weight of roughly 3.5 pounds, and it breaks cleanly despite the linkage a bullpup layout requires. Combined with the free-floated barrel, it is set up to shoot tight groups for a rimfire in this class.

Can I upgrade the barrel on the Trek-22 later?

Yes, the chassis supports standard and aftermarket bull barrels up to .920 inch in diameter, so heavier match barrels will fit. Just note that Desert Tech designed and tested the platform around factory Ruger 10/22 components, so clone-based parts may not always play nicely.
