DeSantis Insider IWB Holster – Glock 19/23 Right Hand Black Leather

Description

The DeSantis Insider is one of those holsters that wins people over by keeping things simple. It's a single piece of soft, un-molded black leather formed into a pouch with a stout steel belt clip, and that stripped-down approach is exactly what makes it comfortable to wear from morning to night. If you've fought with a rigid Kydex rig that digs into your side while you're seated or driving, this is a nice change of pace. The leather flexes and conforms to your body instead of pushing back against it.

What Makes the Insider Ride So Low

The secret here is the heavy-duty spring steel clip, which sits high on the holster body so the gun tucks deeper into the waistband. That means less grip printing through your shirt, which is usually the part that gives a concealed pistol away. The clip locks onto belts up to 1 3/4 inches wide and holds firm through daily movement, so your setup stays put whether you're running errands or on your feet all day. A lot of folks carry theirs around the 3:30 to 4 o'clock position and find the grip hides much better than it did in a higher-riding holster.

Fit and Break-In on the Glock 19/23 Insider

This model is cut for right-hand carry and fits a wide range of compact autos beyond the Glock 19, 23, 32, and 36. Think Springfield XD and XD-M 3.8, Walther P99, several SIG P-series pistols, the H&K VP9, and the Beretta APX. Because the leather is un-molded, it breaks in and shapes itself to your specific pistol over the first week or two, giving you a custom feel without any fuss. There's basically no learning curve.

DeSantis has been building holsters in the USA for over 50 years, and the Insider is a good example of their bread-and-butter work: honest leather, a clip that won't quit, and comfort that keeps you carrying instead of leaving the gun at home.
