The HyEye cuts through the debate between leather and Kydex by giving you the best of both worlds in one efficient package. The design pairs a thermoformed Kydex shell with center-cut steer hide backing, so you get the secure, consistent draw mechanics of polymer while the leather backing distributes pressure comfortably against your body. This hybrid approach means the holster holds its shape for reliable re-holstering while avoiding that hard rectangle feeling during extended carry.
The Kydex front delivers tactile feedback when your gun seats fully and keeps everything in place with minimal shift. The leather backing breaks the monotony of rigid polymer against skin, which makes a real difference during long drives or extended wear. DeSantis rounds and polishes all edges to eliminate the rough points that can wear through your clothing or irritate your side.
This holster is cut to clear common red dot sights, giving you the flexibility to run your carry gun set up as you prefer. The spring steel belt clip reverses in about a minute, so left and right handed carriers get the same holster without needing extra parts. The single-clip footprint keeps the rig trim whether you're carrying appendix or behind the hip, and it works anywhere along your beltline so you can find your natural draw angle.
Yes, the spring steel belt clip reverses easily without any extra parts or tools needed. You can swap it to either side in about a minute, making this single holster suitable for both right and left handed carriers looking for a truly ambidextrous setup.
The HyEye is cut specifically to clear common red dot sights, so it accommodates pistols with optics mounted. This includes small, enclosed, and open emitter designs, giving you flexibility to run your Glock with your preferred sighting system.
The hybrid design combines the retention and shape-holding properties of molded Kydex with the comfort of soft leather against your body. This gives you consistent re-holstering mechanics without the hard-against-skin feel of pure polymer, making it practical for all-day carry without sacrificing reliability.
The holster works anywhere along your beltline including appendix carry, strong side carry, and behind the hip positions. The single-clip design keeps it trim in all positions, and the flexible mounting lets you find your natural draw angle with relative ease.
