The blowback action cycles most reliably with high velocity .22 LR in the 1200 to 1350 fps range, with roughly 1040 fps as the practical minimum. Standard and subsonic loads under about 1100 fps may not cycle consistently, so save the quiet stuff for bolt guns or plan on modifications.
You can. The rear rail gives you a mounting point for a red dot or rimfire scope, and the ramped front bead sight is removable if it gets in the way of your sight picture. Out of the box you can shoot with the bead or go straight to glass.
It is one of the better fits out there. The stock adjusts for length of pull by adding or removing basepads, and the whole rifle weighs just 4.85 pounds with a 34 inch overall length. Paired with the soft shooting .22 LR chambering, it works well for teaching fundamentals.
