The Dead Air Mojave Piston in M16x1 LH gives your Mojave 9 or Mojave 45 the interface it needs to run on .45 caliber hosts with left-hand metric threads, letting the barrel unlock and tilt normally so the pistol keeps running like the suppressor was never there.
This piston is not a standalone part. It works inside the PB500 Booster Assembly that ships with every Mojave 9 and Mojave 45, along with the internal booster spring. Swapping pistons is a quick job, so one can and a small pile of pistons will cover just about every threaded pistol in the safe. This PB445 version handles the M16x1 left-hand pattern, which is the thread you will find on HK hosts like the USP Tactical in .45 and the HK45 Compact Tactical. If your barrel is threaded M16x1 right-hand, like a Mark 23, Dead Air makes the PB446 for that instead, so double check which direction your threads run before ordering.
A piston does double duty. It threads the can onto the barrel and it keeps everything aligned while the booster does its job, so quality machining matters more here than people give it credit for. Dead Air cuts these to keep the suppressor concentric to the bore, which protects both your baffles and your accuracy. Yes, but not by itself. On fixed-barrel platforms you pair the piston with the Mojave Fixed Barrel Spacer, sold separately, which locks out the booster function. On tilting-barrel pistols the piston works as-is and lets the action cycle normally with the can attached.
No, the Mojave piston series is purpose-built for the Mojave 9 and Mojave 45 booster system. Dead Air's other pistol cans use their own piston lines, such as the P-Series. Stick with PB-series pistons for anything in the Mojave family.
