The Wolverine PBS-1 was built around the idea that one suppressor should cover an entire safe full of com-bloc hardware, and thread inserts like this one are how that promise gets kept. The WV208 gives your Wolverine an M16x1 left-hand interface, which is the thread pattern found on the Russian RPD. Screw it in, snug up the collar, and a rifle that most suppressor companies never bothered to support suddenly has a proper host mount.
Dead Air designed the Wolverine's mounting system so the inserts do the adapting and the can stays the same. This insert has a .30 caliber bore and drops into the front of the Wolverine just like the rest of the WV200 series. Since it falls into the smaller thread family alongside the M13, M14, M15, 1/2×28, and 5/8×24 inserts, it uses the standard M14 collar that already comes with the Wolverine. No extra collar purchase, no special tools, just swap and shoot. That is a big part of why Wolverine owners tend to collect these inserts over time. One suppressor ends up covering everything from a WASR to a VZ58 to an RPD, and switching between hosts takes about a minute.
An RPD is not a gentle host, so this insert is machined from stainless steel with a black nitride finish for wear and corrosion resistance. The nitride treatment matches the rest of the Wolverine's hardware and holds up to the heat and carbon that belt-fed and semi-auto RPD builds throw at everything near the muzzle. At well under a quarter pound, it adds nothing meaningful to the weight of your setup.

RPD-pattern guns are one of those platforms where suppressor options are slim, so having a factory Dead Air part that handles it correctly, with the right left-hand thread pitch, saves you from sketchy adapter stacking or gunsmith workarounds.
No, but you likely already have the one you need. The smaller thread inserts in the Wolverine lineup, including this M16x1 LH insert, use the standard M14 collar that ships with the Wolverine suppressor itself. Only the M24 and M26 inserts require different collars.
This insert is made for the Russian RPD and RPD-pattern builds, which use an M16x1 left-hand muzzle thread. If your rifle has a different thread pattern, Dead Air makes a full range of Wolverine inserts covering AKM, AK-74, VZ58, HK, Galil, and standard AR thread pitches.
It is designed specifically for the Dead Air Wolverine PBS-1 mounting system. The insert threads into the rear of the Wolverine and locks in place with the collar, so it is not a universal adapter for other cans. If you run a different Dead Air suppressor, check their fitment guide for the right mount.
