Run it long at 8.75 inches with the KeyMicro adapter installed and you get suppression that sits at the top of the 9mm class. Break it down to the short 6.35 inch configuration at 13.8 ounces when you want something compact for a pistol or a tight subgun build. Both setups run off the same fully welded 17-4 PH stainless steel core with a Cerakote finish, and the whole thing is full-auto rated with no barrel length restrictions. There's also a party trick most cans don't have: the front cap accepts a user-provided rubber wipe (tool included) that seals over the bore and knocks the sound signature down even further than baffles alone can manage. Wipes wear out with use, but they're replaceable with common rubber washer sizes, so keeping fresh ones on hand is cheap and easy.
The KeyMicro interface is Dead Air's answer to the aging 3-lug system. You get a stronger, more repeatable quick-attach connection without the wobble and wear issues 3-lug mounts can develop over time. It also opens the door to running the Wolfman as a lightweight can on a 5.56 carbine, which makes this kit a genuinely flexible option if you like sharing one suppressor across several hosts. You don't need one for great performance, but it's there when you want the quietest possible setup, and replacements are common rubber washer sizes.
