The Walther P22 is one of the most popular rimfire hosts out there, but its factory M8x0.75 metric barrel threads leave most suppressors out in the cold. That's the whole reason the Dead Air DA419 exists. Thread this little adapter onto your P22's barrel and you've got a standard 1/2×28 right-hand thread pattern, which means your Mask-HD, or just about any other rimfire can threaded in 1/2×28, spins right on like it was made for the gun.
Dead Air machines this adapter from steel with a black corrosion-resistant finish, so it holds up to solvent, carbon, and the general grime that comes with high-volume rimfire shooting. The built-in O-ring engagement is the detail worth appreciating here. It adds just enough tension to keep the adapter from backing off under fire and helps keep crud out of the threads, which matters more than you'd think on a blowback .22 that runs dirty by nature. At about an inch long, it adds next to nothing to your overall setup, and once it's mounted you'll mostly forget it's there.
Installation is about as easy as it gets. Remove the P22's factory thread protector and barrel stabilizer nut, thread the DA419 on, and mount your suppressor to the 1/2×28 end. No gunsmithing, no permanent changes to the pistol, and you can swap back to the stock configuration anytime. One thing to note: a thread protector is not included with this adapter, so if you plan to run the P22 without a can attached, it's worth picking one up separately.

The threaded P22 barrel uses a metric M8x0.75 thread pattern, which very few suppressors are cut for. The DA419 adapts that metric thread to the common 1/2×28 pitch used by nearly every rimfire suppressor on the market.
The DA419 uses O-ring engagement to maintain tension between the adapter and the barrel threads. That keeps it from walking loose under recoil and also helps shield the threads from carbon fouling. Like any direct-thread setup, it's still smart to check tightness periodically during long range sessions.
