Some suppressors are built to shave every last ounce. The Dead Air Sierra-5 XM takes a different path. This is a can built to get hot, stay attached, and keep doing its job for years of heavy shooting. The core is made from welded Stellite baffles, a cobalt alloy that shrugs off heat and erosion far better than plain stainless, all wrapped in a 17-4 stainless steel outer tube with a high-temp Cerakote finish. Full penetration laser welds tie the whole thing together into one solid monolithic structure, and it carries a full-auto rating with no barrel length restrictions. Run it on a short-barreled 5.56 host and hammer it as hard as you like.
The XM version ships with the complete Xeno system, meaning a Xeno adapter and a 1/2-28 Xeno flash hider, so it bolts onto a standard AR muzzle right out of the box. The quick-detach Xeno mount locks up solid and comes off just as easily when you want to move the can between rifles. Behind that adapter sits an industry-standard HUB (1.375×24) socket, which opens the door to KeyMo, direct thread, and a long list of third-party mounts down the road. There is even a small hole through the blast chamber for a pin and weld setup if you want to make it a permanent fixture on a shorter barrel.
At 5.72 inches long with the adapter installed and 13.3 ounces on the scale, the Sierra-5 XM keeps your rifle handy instead of turning it into a boat oar. The baffle design is tuned specifically for the 5.56 platform, balancing sound reduction with strong flash suppression while keeping blowback low, so you are not eating gas with every shot. The flash hider front cap knocks down visual signature, and if you want to change things up, the endcap is compatible with Dead Air's full R-Series lineup, including the E-Brake.

Out of the box it runs Dead Air's Xeno quick-detach system with the included adapter and 1/2-28 flash hider. Because the rear of the can uses the industry-standard HUB (1.375×24) thread, you can swap to KeyMo, direct thread, or a wide range of third-party HUB mounts later. That flexibility means the can grows with your collection instead of locking you into one setup.
You can. The Sierra-5 ships with a flash hider front cap that does a nice job cutting visual signature, and it accepts all of Dead Air's R-Series caps, including the E-Brake. That lets you tune the muzzle end for flash reduction or recoil mitigation depending on the job.
With the Xeno adapter installed, the can measures 5.72 inches and weighs about 13.3 ounces including the mount hardware. Keep in mind the Xeno mounts over the flash hider, so some of that length sits back over the muzzle device rather than hanging entirely off the end of the barrel. For a Stellite and stainless duty can, it stays impressively compact.
