If you run a Nomad, Primal, Sierra-5, or any other suppressor built around the 1.375-24 HUB standard, this little insert is one of the most useful pieces of kit you can throw in your range bag. The Dead Air HUB Direct Thread Mount threads into the back of your HUB-compatible can and converts it to a straightforward direct thread setup for any barrel with 5/8-24 muzzle threads. That covers a huge swath of .30 caliber bolt guns and AR-10 pattern rifles right out of the gate, plus plenty of 6.5 Creedmoor and 300 Blackout barrels.
This is not a throwaway adapter. Dead Air machines these fixed mounts from 4140 heat treated alloy steel and finishes them in QPQ Black Nitride, the same treatment you see on quality barrels and bolt carriers. It shrugs off heat, carbon, and weather without complaint. At 0.765 inches long and 1.62 ounces, it keeps your suppressor about as short and light as it can get, which matters when you are hanging a can off the end of a hunting rifle you plan to carry all day.
Because the HUB pattern has become the common language of the suppressor world, this mount is not limited to Dead Air products. It works with the Nomad series, Nomad Ti, Primal, Sierra-5, Lazarus-6, and Sandman X, along with suppressors from other brands that use HUB, Bravo, or Universal 1.375-24 threading. One insert, a whole lot of host options.
Installation is about as easy as it gets. Thread the mount into your suppressor, snug it down, then spin the whole assembly onto your muzzle. Direct thread mounting is a favorite among precision guys for a reason: fewer parts in the system means consistent alignment and repeatable point of impact. If you have been swapping one mount between rifles, picking up a spare in each thread pitch you shoot is a cheap way to simplify your life.
Yes, as long as the suppressor uses the industry standard 1.375-24 HUB thread pattern. That includes cans with HUB, Bravo, and Universal threading from a wide range of manufacturers, not just Dead Air. Always double check your suppressor's rear cap threading before ordering.
It fits the Nomad-30, Nomad-L, Nomad Ti series, Primal, Sierra-5, Lazarus-6, and Sandman X. Basically any Dead Air can built on the HUB standard will accept this mount. It does not fit the Sandman series cans that use Dead Air's KeyMo quick detach system exclusively.
This version is cut for 5/8-24 muzzle threads, which is the most common pitch for .30 caliber rifles, including most 6.5 Creedmoor, .308, and 300 Blackout barrels. If your barrel is threaded 1/2-28 or another pitch, Dead Air makes this same mount in a variety of other thread options.
Direct thread setups are known for excellent repeatability since there are fewer interfaces between the can and the barrel. Precision and hunting rifle owners often prefer them for that reason, along with the reduced length and weight. Just make sure the mount is properly torqued and check it periodically during long shooting sessions.
