This is the .30 caliber version in gray, finished in nitride over steel so it shrugs off heat, carbon, and weather without much fuss. If your Nomad wears a gray Cerakote body, this cap keeps the whole can looking like it came out of the box that way instead of mixing black parts onto a gray tube.
The front cap is more than a bore opening. Matching the cap to your caliber tightens up the exit aperture, which helps trap more gas inside the can where the baffles can do their job. The result is better sound performance, less flash at the muzzle, and a bit more control over backpressure. This cap threads into Dead Air's R-Series front cap system, so it drops right into the Nomad-30 and other Nomad suppressors built with R-Series threading. Swapping caps is a quick job with Dead Air's pin tool, and since the whole R-Series ecosystem shares this interface, you can rotate between caliber-specific caps, flash hider caps, or the E-Brake depending on what the day calls for. Yes. The Nomad-30 uses Dead Air's R-Series front cap threading, so this .30 cal cap threads right in. It also works with other Nomad suppressors built on the R-Series front cap interface, which is the same system shared across much of Dead Air's rifle can lineup.
You'll want Dead Air's pin tool to remove your existing cap and torque the new one down. The Small Pin Tool (DA203) is the one suited to the Nomad series caps. It's a quick swap once you have the tool, no gunsmith required.
It does. Reducing the bore opening to match your caliber keeps more gas working inside the suppressor, which improves sound performance and cuts down on muzzle flash. It also gives you a bit more control over how the can handles backpressure on your setup.
The gray color is there to match gray Nomad bodies, but the nitride treatment itself is functional. Nitride hardens the surface and adds solid corrosion and wear resistance, so the cap holds up well to heat and carbon over the long haul. Same durability as the black version, different look.
