The whole point of the Wolverine PBS-1 is that one suppressor can move between a bunch of different hosts, and the swappable thread insert system is what makes that happen. The catch is that each insert size needs a matching locking collar, and the standard collar that ships with the Wolverine only covers the smaller inserts. This WV111 collar is the piece you need when you step up to an M24 insert. It threads onto the muzzle end of the can and locks the insert in place so it stays put shot after shot.
Dead Air makes three collar sizes for the Wolverine. The standard M14 collar comes in the box with the suppressor and handles the M13, M14, M15, M16, 1/2×28, and 5/8×24 inserts. This M24 collar covers both the M24x1.5 RH and the M24x1.5 RH Long inserts, and there is a separate M26 collar for the biggest insert. Simple rule of thumb: match the collar to the insert size and you are set. If you are running a rifle with 24mm metric muzzle threads, this is the one to grab along with the corresponding insert.
This is a precision-machined steel part with a black nitride finish, so it holds up to heat and carbon just like the rest of the suppressor and looks like it belongs there. It weighs next to nothing, adds no meaningful bulk to the setup, and does one job very well: keeping your insert from backing out under recoil. A loose insert is the kind of problem you do not want to discover mid range session, so the correct collar is cheap insurance for keeping everything aligned and locked down.
If you already own a Wolverine and picked up an M24 insert for a new host, pair it with this collar and you are back to swapping between rifles in seconds with hand tools and a little common sense.
The WV111 collar is made for the M24 thread inserts, covering both the standard M24x1.5 RH and the M24x1.5 RH Long versions. It will not work with the smaller inserts or the M26 insert, which each use their own collar size.
It does, but the collar in the box is the standard M14 size, which handles the M13, M14, M15, M16, 1/2×28, and 5/8×24 inserts. The M24 and M26 inserts are physically larger, so each needs its own dedicated collar. If you are adding an M24 insert to your setup, this is the collar that goes with it.
No, the collar and the thread insert are sold separately. This listing is for the locking collar only, so make sure you have the matching M24 insert or pick one up at the same time to complete the setup.
The collar threads onto the muzzle end of the Wolverine and clamps the thread insert in place so it can't back out under recoil. That keeps the suppressor properly aligned and secure on the host, which matters for both accuracy and consistent sound performance. It's a small part, but the insert system depends on it.
