Description

There is something satisfying about a .308 that does not stretch out to rifle length. The Diamondback DB10 SBR takes the proven AR-10 style platform and trims it down to a 13.5-inch barrel, giving you a semi-auto 7.62 NATO gun that handles more like a carbine than a full-size battle rifle. At 33.75 inches overall with the Magpul CTR stock, it is short enough to move through tight spots and ride comfortably in a truck or blind, while still throwing .30 caliber rounds with serious authority.

Black Gold Series Upgrades on the DB10

This one comes from Diamondback's Black Gold Series, which sits a step above their base Carbon line. That means an upgraded DB Black Gold lower with an enhanced trigger guard, Magpul furniture including the CTR adjustable stock, and Diamondback's free-float M-LOK handguard with anti-slip texturing. The 13-inch rail gives you plenty of real estate for lights, lasers, and a solid grip well out toward the muzzle. Both receivers are forged from 7075 T-6 aluminum with a hardcoat anodized finish, so the whole package is built to take a beating.

Barrel and Muzzle Setup on This DB10 SBR

The 13.5-inch barrel wears standard 5/8×24 threads and ships with Diamondback's CNC-machined muzzle brake, which does a nice job taming the recoil impulse from a short-barreled .308. Fair warning, a braked short .308 has some bark to it, so plan on quality ear pro. If you prefer, the threading makes it easy to swap on a suppressor mount or different muzzle device down the road. A mid-length gas system keeps the action running smoothly across a range of loads.

Diamondback builds these in-house at their Cocoa, Florida facility, and the DB10 line has earned a reputation as a reliable workhorse that runs well out of the box. It ships with one 20-round Magpul PMAG, so you are ready to load up and get to the range. For anyone wanting big-bore power in a compact semi-auto, this one checks a lot of boxes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of velocity can I expect from the DB10 SBR's 13.5-inch barrel?

Expect most .308 and 7.62 NATO loads to run in the 2,200 to 2,500 fps range from the 13.5-inch barrel. That is a step down from a 20-inch rifle, but it still delivers plenty of energy for hunting and defensive work at practical distances. Heavier bullets tend to make the most of shorter .308 barrels.

Can I put a suppressor on the Diamondback DB10 SBR?

Yes. The barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard thread pattern for .30 caliber muzzle devices and suppressor mounts. Just remove the factory muzzle brake and install your mount of choice. A can pairs really well with a short .308 like this, since the factory brake is on the loud side.

Does the DB10 SBR take standard AR-10 style magazines?

It ships with a 20-round Magpul PMAG and runs SR-25 pattern magazines, which are the most common type for this platform. That gives you a huge selection of affordable, widely available mags from Magpul and other makers.

How does the recoil feel on a .308 this short?

Softer than you might expect. The included CNC muzzle brake, the weight of the .308 bolt carrier group, and the Magpul furniture all work together to keep it controllable, even during quick follow-up shots. The trade-off is extra blast and concussion, so good hearing protection is a must, especially under a roof or next to other lanes.
