CZ took everything they learned building some of the most respected handguns in the world and started fresh with the Duty line. The Duty 4.0F MS is the full-size version, chambered in 9mm with a 4-inch cold hammer-forged barrel and a serialized modular chassis that lets you swap grip modules without changing the serialized part of the gun. It ships with a nitride-finished slide, a black polymer frame, and fully ambidextrous controls, which means lefties finally get a service pistol that works the way it should right out of the box. The MS designation tells you this one carries an ambidextrous manual thumb safety on top of the internal trigger, trigger bar, and firing pin safeties.
The headline feature here is the direct-mount optics interface. Instead of fiddling with a pile of adapter plates, the Duty 4.0F uses an included pin system to mount a red dot straight to the slide, and it covers a wide spread of popular footprints including the Trijicon RMR, RMSc, Holosun K series, and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro. Pair that with the H3 tritium night sights that come standard and you've got a pistol that's ready for low light before you even add glass.
CZ rates the Duty platform for serious mileage, and they backed that up by running it through 25,000 rounds of overpressure ammunition during testing. The 4-inch barrel is cold hammer-forged for longevity and accuracy, the slide wears enhanced serrations for a solid grip during press checks and reloads, and the magazines use a redesigned base plate that gives you more to hang onto during fast reloads.
Three interchangeable grip modules come into play here, so you can tune the feel to your hand rather than settling for a one-size compromise. The ambidextrous slide stop and magazine catch round out a layout that's comfortable for both hands, making the Duty 4.0F MS a strong pick for duty carry, home defense, or stacking up range time.
Yes, the Duty 4.0F uses a direct-mount optics-ready slide with an included pin system, so you mount the dot straight to the slide instead of stacking adapter plates. It's set up to accept a wide range of popular footprints including the Trijicon RMR, RMSc, Holosun K series, and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro. That flexibility makes it easy to run whatever optic you already own.
The MS stands for manual safety. This version adds a fully ambidextrous manual thumb safety on top of the internal trigger, trigger bar, and firing pin safeties, while the standard 4.0F relies on those passive safeties without the thumb lever. Both are full-size 9mm pistols otherwise built to the same spec.
It ships with two magazines, one 17-round and one extended 19-round, which is where the advertised 19+1 capacity comes from. The magazines feature a redesigned base plate for a better grip during reloads. Both are standard CZ Duty magazines.
No, the Duty 4.0F MS comes with a standard 4-inch cold hammer-forged barrel that is not threaded. If you're after a suppressor-ready setup, you'd need to look at a threaded aftermarket option. The factory barrel is built for durability and accuracy out of the box.
