The CZ Custom A01-LD is what happens when the CZ Custom Shop in Mesa, Arizona decides to build a competition pistol from the ground up, without compromise. It's rooted in the DNA of the legendary CZ 75 and Shadow series, but evolved in every direction that matters on a match stage. The LD stands for long dustcover, and that front-heavy steel frame is the heart of what makes this gun so flat-shooting. The extra mass up front soaks up recoil and kills muzzle rise in a way that has to be felt to be fully appreciated.
The trigger setup on the A01-LD is one of its biggest draws. Both the hammer and sear are directly pinned in the frame, which tightens up consistency shot to shot. The DA pull runs 8 to 8.5 lbs, and SA comes in at 3 to 3.5 lbs with a short reset. The trigger itself is borrowed from the CZ 85 Combat, which is high praise on its own. The slide is CNC machined from 4140 bar stock and features front and rear serrations, and this RDS version adds a factory optic cut so you can mount a red dot without any milling or gunsmithing.
The frame packs in a deep beavertail, undercut trigger guard, 25 LPI checkering on the front and backstrap, and an internal magwell for fast, no-fumble reloads. The 4.925" bull barrel is machined from 416 stainless steel and fits tight enough that you won't notice any play. Black G10 grips round out the package with a texture that holds up under competition conditions.

LD stands for Long Dustcover. The extended, heavily massed dustcover is the defining physical feature of this model and the main reason it shoots so flat. All that extra steel forward of the trigger guard shifts weight to the front of the gun, which significantly dampens muzzle rise and smooths out the recoil impulse during rapid fire.
Yes, this specific variant is the RDS Optic Cut version, meaning the slide comes from the factory already milled for a red dot sight. It also ships with an iron sight plate so you can run iron sights when no optic is installed. No aftermarket milling required.
The A01-LD is built around the higher-capacity CZ P-09/P-07/P-10 magazine platform. It ships with two 19-round P-09 magazines and runs all standard P-series double-stack magazines. This is different from the standard CZ 75 or Shadow 2 magazine, so keep that in mind when building up your mag inventory.
