Break the action open, drop in a round, close it up, and you are ready. No magazines to lose, no bolt to fuss with, and no extra weight from parts you do not need. At 6.4 pounds it is the sort of rifle you can carry all day on a coyote stand or hand to a new hunter without a second thought.
The 20 inch matte blued barrel runs a 1:9 twist, which handles the popular mid-weight .223 loads nicely, from 55 grain varmint bullets up through heavier match-style offerings. The muzzle comes threaded 5/8×24 with a thread protector installed, so adding a suppressor or muzzle device is a five minute job. Up top, a factory installed 0 MOA DuraSight rail base means you can mount a scope or red dot straight out of the box without hunting down bases and rings that fit. There are no iron sights on this model, and frankly that is how most folks run these anyway.
The stealth grey synthetic stock is where the V3 earns its generation number. CVA reworked the ergonomics with a more comfortable grip, a recoil pad, and a removable stock spacer that lets you shorten the length of pull for smaller-framed hunters or bulk it back up for a full-grown adult in a heavy coat. That adjustability makes this a genuinely good pick for a family gun that grows with a young hunter.
Break actions are compact, easy to clean, safe to teach with, and they force good shot discipline. Pair the Scout V3 with a modest scope and a suppressor and you have a quiet, handy varmint and predator rig that punches well above its class. Simple gun, well executed.
No iron sights or scope are included on this model. It ships with a factory-installed 0 MOA DuraSight Picatinny-style rail base, so all you need is a set of rings and the optic of your choice. Most owners run a compact scope or red dot and are on paper within a few rounds.

A 1:9 twist is a nice middle-of-the-road rate for .223. It stabilizes common 55 grain varmint loads well and will typically handle bullets up to around 69 grains. That covers just about everything you would want for coyotes, groundhogs, and general range work.
It is one of the better choices out there for that role. The break action is simple and easy to verify safe, recoil in .223 is mild, and the removable stock spacer lets you shorten the length of pull to fit a smaller shooter. As they grow, you just add the spacer back in.
