The CVA Knuckle Saver Bullet Starter was built to end that problem for good. Its starting rod engages the bullet securely around the point and stops your hand's downward momentum before your fingers ever reach the muzzle, letting you drive the bullet home without the racked knuckles.
A lot of bullet starters are just a knob and a short rod. This one adds a wide, built-in palm grip that keeps your hand clear of pinch points and impact areas while giving you serious leverage. That extra base makes it easier to seat the toughest bullets, and it works just as well with gloves on during a cold morning hunt as it does bare-handed at the bench.
The Knuckle Saver is more versatile than it looks. Beyond starting bullets, it threads onto a standard ramrod to act as an extension handle or a palm saver, which comes in handy when you are seating a load all the way down or need extra reach. It's built from solid aluminum construction, so it holds up to real range and field use without adding much weight to your possibles bag. Measuring right around ten and a half inches, it stows easily wherever you keep your loading gear.
This starter is designed to handle projectiles across the common .32 through .58 caliber range, covering the vast majority of inline and traditional black powder rifles out there. Worth noting: it does not work with the newer Powerbelt ELR bullets, so keep that in mind if that's your projectile of choice. For everything else, from round balls to conicals to sabots, it's a simple tool that earns a permanent spot in your kit.
