The .22 Creedmoor has become the darling of the predator hunting world for good reason. It pushes heavy .224 bullets fast and flat, bucks wind better than the old standby varmint rounds, and now that factory ammo is on shelves, it's easier than ever to feed. The Cascade XT is a smart home for it. CVA benefits from being under the same roof as Bergara, and it shows in the 22 inch fluted barrel, which carries a heavier number 5 taper contour that settles nicely on sticks or a bipod without turning the rifle into a chore to carry.
The XT takes the standard Cascade, a rifle that already earned a reputation for punching above its class, and adds the upgrades serious hunters ask for. You get a radial muzzle brake threaded on 5/8×24, so swapping to a suppressor takes about a minute. The oversized bolt knob is easy to run with cold hands or gloves, and the three lug bolt gives you a short 70 degree throw with plenty of scope clearance. The whole barreled action wears graphite black Cerakote, which shrugs off wet mornings and truck bed abuse alike.
The fiberglass reinforced synthetic stock comes in OD green with black webbing and CVA's SoftTouch finish, which gives you a grippy, rubberized feel even when everything is soaked. A removable spacer lets you adjust length of pull to fit heavy winter layers or smaller framed hunters, and dual front swivel studs mean you can run a sling and bipod at the same time. Feeding comes from a flush fit detachable magazine holding four rounds, with one more in the chamber.
CVA backs the Cascade line with an MOA guarantee, and the adjustable single stage trigger breaks clean from the factory. Add glass to the included Picatinny rail, find the load your barrel likes, and this rifle is ready to reach out and touch song dogs at distances that make your buddies double check their rangefinders.
This is a predator and varmint hunter's dream setup. The .22 Creedmoor launches heavy .224 caliber bullets at serious velocity, giving you a flat trajectory and excellent wind performance on coyotes, foxes, and long-range varmints. Yes. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, which is the most common thread pitch for rifle suppressors in this bore size. The factory radial muzzle brake spins right off, so switching between the brake and a can takes just a minute.
It used to be a handloader's cartridge, but that has changed. Hornady and other manufacturers now offer factory loads, and availability keeps improving as the cartridge grows in popularity with predator hunters. Handloaders still love it too, since it uses easy-to-find 6.5 Creedmoor brass necked down.
This rifle ships with a Picatinny rail already on the receiver, so most standard Picatinny rings will bolt right up. The receiver is also drilled and tapped to the Savage 110 AccuTrigger pattern, which means mount and base options are plentiful if you want a different setup.
