The Cascade name has earned a loyal following on the centerfire side, and CVA finally gave rimfire fans what they were asking for. The Cascade Rimfire takes the same Spanish-designed attention to fit and finish and scales it into a .22 LR bolt gun that weighs just 4.75 pounds. The safety and bolt release sit right where they do on the centerfire Cascades, so if you already run one of those for deer season, this makes a natural understudy for cheap practice and small game duty.
The 18-inch blued barrel comes threaded 1/2×28 with a protector installed, so a rimfire can screws right on the day you bring it home. A two-piece Picatinny rail is mounted at the factory, which means no hunting down bases or guessing at hole spacing before you can get a scope on it. The trigger is a nice surprise at this price point too, breaking clean at right around 3 pounds. Pair that with the 1:16 twist barrel and you have a setup that will stack bulk ammo into satisfying groups and really tighten up with match loads.
CVA made a smart call on magazines. The included 10-round rotary mag feeds smoothly and sits flush, but the rifle also accepts standard Ruger 10/22 magazines.
