The 7mm Remington Magnum has been dropping elk and mule deer across canyons for decades, and the CVA Cascade LR Hunter gives that proven cartridge a platform built to use every bit of its reach. This is CVA borrowing ideas from long-range target rifles and putting them into a gun you can carry into the field. The 24-inch medium-heavy #5 contour barrel is fluted to shave weight, threaded 5/8×24, and wears a radial muzzle brake from the factory that takes real bite out of magnum recoil. Underneath it all is the smooth-cycling Cascade action with a three-lug bolt and a short throw that makes follow-up shots quick.
Stock fit matters more than most people give it credit for, especially behind a magnum. The synthetic stock on the LR Hunter has an adjustable cheek riser so you can get your eye lined up behind taller scope setups, plus removable spacers to tune length of pull. The forend is flat and wide, which gives you a solid platform off a pack, bag, or tripod. Three sling studs mean you can run a bipod and a two-point sling at the same time, and the black stock with smoked bronze webbing matches the Smoked Bronze Cerakote on the barreled action, a finish that shrugs off weather season after season.
There are no iron sights here, and that is by design. The receiver wears a 20 MOA Picatinny rail, giving your scope the extra elevation travel it needs when you start dialing for longer shots. Add in an adjustable trigger that breaks clean from the factory and a 4+1 capacity fed from a detachable box magazine, and this rifle is ready for glass and a range session with a few loads to find what it likes. For hunters watching open prairie, powerline cuts, or big western country, the Cascade LR Hunter in 7mm Rem Mag hits a sweet spot of capability and value that is tough to argue with.
No iron sights and no scope. The receiver comes with a 20 MOA Picatinny rail installed, so all you need are rings and the optic of your choice. The 20 MOA cant gives your scope extra elevation adjustment for longer-distance dialing, which fits the whole point of this rifle.
It is far more manageable than you might expect from a magnum. The factory radial muzzle brake takes a big chunk out of the felt recoil, and the rifle's roughly 8.6 pound weight soaks up more of it. The rubber buttpad and adjustable stock fit help too. It will be louder with the brake on, so double up on ear protection at the range.
Yes. The muzzle brake is removable, and the barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard thread pitch for most 30 caliber and 7mm suppressors and muzzle devices. Just make sure whatever can you run is rated for 7mm Rem Mag pressures.
