CVA spent decades building muzzleloaders and single-shot rifles before putting all that know-how into the Cascade, their first bolt-action centerfire, and it shows in the details. This version is chambered in .308 Winchester, arguably the most practical do-everything deer cartridge in North America, with a 22 inch 4140 carbon steel barrel spinning a 1:10 twist that stabilizes everything from light varmint loads up to heavy 180 grain bullets. The muzzle comes threaded 5/8×24 and capped, so adding a brake or suppressor down the road takes about thirty seconds.
The barreled action wears a Graphite Black Cerakote finish that laughs at rain, snow, and sweaty truck gun racks. It sits in a fiberglass-reinforced synthetic stock in OD Green with CVA's SoftTouch coating, which gives you a grippy, almost rubbery feel even with cold or wet hands. A removable spacer in the buttstock lets you adjust length of pull, so the same rifle fits a growing kid this season and a full-sized adult the next. Dual swivel studs up front mean you can run a sling and a bipod at the same time without compromising.
The bolt uses a 70 degree throw, which cycles fast and clears big scope bells that would hang up on a traditional 90 degree action. Feeding comes from a flush-fit detachable magazine holding four rounds, keeping the profile slim for carrying through thick timber. The two-position safety sits right where your thumb expects it, and the receiver ships with a Picatinny-style scope rail installed, so you can mount glass and head to the range the day you pick it up.
This rifle has built a reputation for delivering accuracy and features usually found on pricier bolt guns. Between the threaded barrel, Cerakote protection, adjustable stock, and slick action, the Cascade in .308 is a legitimate one-rifle solution for whitetail, hogs, black bear, and range days in between.
Yes. The 22 inch barrel comes threaded in the standard 5/8×24 pattern, so most .30 caliber suppressors and muzzle brakes spin right on. A thread protector keeps the muzzle covered until you're ready to add something.
There are no iron sights on this rifle, since it's built to be run with an optic. It ships with a Picatinny-style scope rail on the receiver, so all you need is a set of rings and your glass of choice before heading to the range.
It can. The buttstock uses a removable spacer system that lets you shorten or lengthen the length of pull. That makes the Cascade a smart pick for a rifle that needs to fit a youth hunter now and a full-grown adult later.
It feeds from a flush-fit detachable box magazine that holds 4 rounds, giving you 4+1 total with one in the chamber. The flush design keeps the bottom of the rifle snag-free, which is a nice touch when you're carrying it through brush all day. One magazine is included in the box.
