The Cascade was CVA's first venture into bolt-action centerfire rifles, and they came out swinging. The CR3900G wears a Graphite Black Cerakote finish over its 4140 carbon steel barrel and receiver, matched to an OD green synthetic stock, so you get a rig that handles rain, mud, and truck-bed abuse without complaint. Chambered in .243 Winchester, it is a natural pick for whitetail, antelope, hogs, and coyotes, with recoil mild enough that newer hunters will not develop a flinch on day one.
The 22 inch barrel is free-floated and threaded 5/8×24 at the muzzle, so adding a brake or suppressor takes about thirty seconds. A 1:10 twist stabilizes the popular bullet weights in .243, from light varmint loads up through 100 grain deer bullets. The bolt runs a 70 degree throw, which keeps your hand clear of the scope and makes cycling quick when a follow-up shot matters. Feeding comes from a flush-fit 4 round detachable box magazine, and a simple two-position safety sits right where your thumb expects it. Up top, the receiver carries an integrated Picatinny-style rail and is drilled and tapped, so mounting glass is straightforward with whatever rings you already trust.
The fiberglass-reinforced synthetic stock has a SoftTouch coating that stays grippy with cold or wet hands, and the length of pull adjusts with a removable spacer. That makes this rifle easy to fit to a growing kid, a smaller-framed adult, or a full-sized hunter without buying anything extra. Dual front sling studs let you run a sling and a bipod at the same time, a small detail that pays off when you are glassing open country.
At around 7 pounds bare, the CR3900G carries well over a long day and settles nicely on sticks or a pack. It is backed by CVA's accuracy reputation, and owners consistently report tight groups with ammo the rifle likes. For the hunter who wants a dependable, suppressor-ready .243 without a custom-shop bill, this one checks the boxes.
Yes. The muzzle comes threaded in the common 5/8×24 pattern, so most .30 caliber and smaller suppressors and muzzle brakes will spin right on. A thread protector keeps things clean when you are running the bare muzzle.
Absolutely, it has been a proven whitetail and antelope cartridge for decades. With quality 90 to 100 grain bullets it delivers clean, ethical kills at practical hunting distances, and the light recoil makes accurate shot placement easier. It also doubles nicely as a coyote and varmint round with lighter bullets.
No, it ships without sights or optics. The receiver has an integrated Picatinny-style rail and is drilled and tapped, so you can mount the scope of your choice right out of the box. Just add rings sized to your optic and you are set.
It is one of the better options for that. The buttstock uses a removable spacer to shorten or lengthen the length of pull, so it can fit a growing kid now and be adjusted back up later. Combined with the mild recoil of .243 Winchester, it makes a solid first deer rifle that will not get outgrown.
