There are a lot of AR pistols out there, but very few wear the rampant pony on the receiver. This is Colt's factory-built M4 Pistol, a 10.3 inch barreled 5.56 NATO that borrows its DNA straight from the company's duty carbines. You get forged 7075-T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers with a mil-spec Type III hardcoat anodized finish, a chrome lined barrel with a manganese phosphate exterior, and a 1:7 twist that stabilizes everything from light varmint loads to heavy 77 grain match ammo. The direct gas impingement system keeps the manual of arms familiar and the parts count simple.
Colt fitted this pistol with their own free-float handguard, and it is a nice one. A full length M1913 Picatinny rail runs across the top for optics and backup sights, while M-LOK slots in seven orientations handle lights, lasers, and hand stops wherever you want them. Integrated steel QD sling sockets and anti-rotation tabs are built right in, so you are not buying extra hardware just to run a sling. Out back, the SB Tactical SBA5 brace rides on a 6-position mil-spec extension, letting you adjust the overall length between roughly 26.8 and 29.3 inches to fit your setup.
At 5.7 pounds, this thing is easy to move with, whether that means working around the truck, keeping it staged at home, or just having a blast at the range. The 10.3 inch barrel keeps the whole package short without giving up the reliability Colt built its reputation on, and the muzzle comes threaded so you can swap devices as you see fit. It feeds from a 30 round Magpul PMAG, and one comes in the box. For folks who want a compact 5.56 with a name that has been on military contracts for decades, this is about as legit as a factory AR pistol gets.

Yes. The 10.3 inch barrel comes with a threaded muzzle, so you can swap the factory device for a suppressor mount, compensator, or brake of your choice. Just keep in mind that a shorter 5.56 barrel produces more blast, so a quality device makes a noticeable difference at the range.
Both share the free-float M-LOK handguard and SBA5 brace, but the M4 Pistol uses Colt's standard M4 style receivers with right-handed controls. The M5 version steps up to Colt's newer receiver set with ambidextrous controls. If you run a rifle right-handed, the M4 gets you the same core performance.
It does. The SBA5 sits on a 6-position mil-spec extension tube, which lets you adjust the overall length from about 26.8 inches out to 29.3 inches. That makes it easy to dial in a comfortable fit whether you are shooting with a plate carrier, heavy jacket, or just a t-shirt.
