The headline feature is Cobalt's proprietary reverse-threaded barrel nut system. It seats the barrel evenly and gives far more thread engagement than a standard externally threaded receiver extension, which lets the barrel extension surface be machined to tighter tolerances. The free-float handguard then locks onto that extended portion of the upper with a 4-point, 8-screw mounting setup, creating a true non-rotating, semi-monolithic feel without the headaches of a traditional one-piece upper. The 7-sided 6061 M-LOK handguard gives you plenty of real estate for lights, lasers, bipods, and sling points.
