The .300 Blackout cartridge was engineered to burn its powder efficiently in short barrels, so a 7.5 inch tube gives up very little velocity compared to longer options. Supersonic loads still hit hard at practical distances, and subsonic rounds perform the same as they would from a longer barrel.
The charging handle and safety lever are fully ambidextrous, so left-handed users can run the gun comfortably. The bolt catch and mag release are single side, which keeps the layout familiar for anyone used to a standard AR pattern. It is a practical middle ground that works well from either shoulder.
