Deleting the buffer tube changes more than just the length. The rear of the lower wears a 1913 Picatinny rail section instead of a receiver extension, so you can run the folding brace that fits you best and keep the folded package remarkably tight. Charging is handled by a forward non-reciprocating side charger that swaps to either side, and the ambidextrous controls carry that left-hand friendliness through the rest of the gun. The 6.5 inch 4140 chrome moly barrel is free floated inside a 5.5 inch M-LOK handguard, threaded 5/8×24, and capped with CMMG's ZEROED linear compensator to push blast and noise forward instead of back at you.

No, it ships optic ready with no sights installed. The full-length Picatinny top rail gives you plenty of room to mount a red dot, an LPVO, or backup irons. Given the compact size and intended role, a compact red dot is the most popular setup for this platform.
