The CMMG Dissent BR4 goes a different direction, blending traditional rifle ergonomics with the same Radial Delayed Blowback system that made CMMG's Banshee line a favorite among PCC fans. Instead of relying on a heavy bolt to slow things down like a straight blowback gun, the radial delayed action bleeds off energy through rotating bolt lugs, which means a lighter bolt carrier and noticeably softer recoil. Add a fixed ejector in the upper receiver and you get consistent cycling across everything from light supersonic range ammo to heavy subsonics.
The 16.1 inch 4140CM barrel wears a salt bath nitride finish and a 1:10 twist, capped with CMMG's ZEROED muzzle brake on standard 1/2×28 threads, so swapping to a suppressor or different muzzle device is simple. Both receivers are machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum and finished in Coyote Tan Cerakote, and the whole package comes in at 7.8 pounds with a 38.1 inch overall length. The controls are where things get interesting: a forward non-reciprocating side charger that can be swapped to either side, a reversible crossbolt safety, and a Magpul SGA stock that uses the Remington 870 pattern.
