Running 7.62×39 through a standard AR magazine has always been a bit of a gamble. The cartridge's steep taper just doesn't play nice with straight-walled AR mags. CMMG's answer with the Banshee MK47 is refreshingly simple: build the lower around AK-pattern magazines, since they were designed for this round in the first place. The result is an AR pistol that feeds the Soviet classic the way it was meant to be fed, with the ergonomics and modularity of the platform you already know.

Why the Mk47 Platform Stands Apart

The Mk47 is CMMG's mid-size receiver set, sized between an AR-15 and an AR-10. That extra material, along with CMMG's PowerBolt technology, gives the gun the durability to handle 7.62×39 pressures without ballooning into something heavy and awkward. The 12.5 inch medium-taper barrel wears a black nitride finish for corrosion resistance and long service life, and the 5/8×24 threaded muzzle comes topped with a ZEROED linear compensator that pushes blast forward instead of back at you.
