CMMG dropped that cartridge into the Dissent BR4, a rifle that trades the typical buffer tube setup for a compact action and a Remington 870-pattern Magpul SGA stock. The heart of this rifle is CMMG's compact-action direct impingement system paired with a reversible side charging handle, so there's no traditional charging handle to reach over an optic for. The 16.1 inch 4140CM barrel wears a salt bath nitride finish for corrosion resistance, spins bullets with a 1:7 twist, and comes threaded 5/8×24 behind CMMG's ZEROED muzzle brake. The rifle-length gas system feeds through an adjustable gas block, which is a real perk if you plan to run a suppressor or want to tune the action to your preferred hunting or match load.
