The CMC AR-15/10 Single-Stage Component Trigger takes everything people love about CMC's original drop-in units and delivers it in a component format that installs the traditional way, right into your lower. You still get the same crisp 3.5 lb break, the same short positive reset, and the same tight sear geometry, just without the housing wrapped around it. It's a curved bow with a small pin (.154 diameter), so it drops right into the majority of standard AR-15 and AR-10 lowers out there.
CMC has been building the original drop-in AR trigger since 2003, and the guts here carry that DNA. The internals are cut from 8620 alloy steel and S7 tool steel, and the sear surfaces get finished to a 1-2 RMS tolerance using a proprietary machining process instead of the rougher EDM finish you'll find on a lot of competitors. That polish is a big part of why the break feels clean with no gritty creep leading up to it. A high-power Rocket Wire hammer spring keeps lock time short and reliably lights off both commercial and surplus ammo.
The component route is really about preference. Some folks just like a conventional trigger, hammer, and disconnector living in the receiver without a housing, and this gives you that flexibility for a custom build while keeping CMC's performance intact. The curved shoe guides your finger to a consistent spot on the bow and gives you a little more contact surface, which a lot of people find more comfortable over a long range session.
Installing loose fire control parts can be a spring-juggling headache, which is exactly why CMC developed their patented assembly tool. It holds everything in alignment so you're not fighting each piece into place. Keep in mind the assembly tool is sold separately and isn't part of this package, so if you don't already own one, plan on grabbing it alongside the trigger. The red finish is a nice touch too, adding some pop to a build without messing with function.

No, the patented assembly tool is sold separately and does not come with this trigger. The tool holds all the small parts in alignment during install so you're not juggling springs and pins. If you don't already have one, it's worth picking up alongside the trigger to make the job easier.
This is a small pin trigger with .154 inch pins, which fits the majority of standard AR-15 and AR-10 lowers. The main exception is Colt rifles built between 1991 and late 2009, which used larger .172 inch pin holes and require a large pin trigger. If you're unsure, measure your receiver's pin holes before ordering.
No, the pull weight is factory pre-set at 3.5 lb and is not user adjustable. This keeps the break consistent and predictable shot after shot. If you want a heavier pull, CMC offers this component trigger in 4.5, 5.5, and 6.5 lb options as well.
