The CMC 93504 takes the guesswork out of upgrading your AR trigger. This is a fully self-contained, one-piece fire control group with a two-stage pull that runs a 2 lb first stage into a 2 lb release for a 4 lb total. That means you get a defined take-up, a clean wall, and a glass-smooth break at the second stage instead of the mushy, unpredictable feel of a factory mil-spec trigger. It works across AR-15, AR-10, and LR-308 rifles built on Mil-Spec small pin (.154) receivers.
CMC's patented Signature Flat trigger bow gives your finger more surface area and a natural resting point, so every pull lands the same way as the last. That repeatability is a big part of why precision and competition folks gravitate toward the flat face. Pair that with almost no over-travel, minimal lock time, and a short, positive reset, and follow-up shots come fast and predictable.
The internals are built from S7 tool steel for the trigger and sear with an 8620 alloy steel housing, machined to tolerances of plus or minus .001 inch on the engagement surfaces. The housing seals the guts of the trigger away from carbon, grit, and debris that normally end up in your lower. A high-power rocket wire hammer spring keeps ignition reliable with both commercial and surplus ammunition, though CMC notes it isn't recommended for 5.45×39.
Installation is about as painless as it gets. There's no wrestling with separate springs and pins trying to launch across the room. You drop the module into the lower, run the included anti-walk pins through, do your safety and function check, and you're shooting. It's built for Mil-Spec small pin (.154 diameter) lower receivers, which covers the vast majority of AR-15, AR-10, and LR-308 rifles. If your rifle isn't a Colt, or your Colt was made before 1991 or after 2009, it takes a small pin. You can confirm by pushing a pin partway out and measuring its diameter.
Not at all. Because it's a fully self-contained, one-piece module, you skip the usual struggle with loose springs and detents. You drop it into the lower, run the included anti-walk pins through, torque the pinset screws to no more than 12 in-lb, then do a safety and function check before shooting.
