CMC pretty much invented the drop-in AR trigger, and this curved single-stage unit is the one that put them on the map. Everything lives inside a self-contained cassette, so instead of fiddling with loose hammers, disconnectors, and springs that all have to be fitted just right, you push two pins, drop in a finished assembly, and you are done. The pull weight is set at the factory between 3 and 3.5 pounds and is not user adjustable, which means the crisp, repeatable break is dialed in before it ever leaves Texas.

If your rifle is not a Colt, or your Colt was made before 1991 or after 2009, it takes a small pin. The included CMC anti-walk pin set locks the assembly in place and keeps everything from wandering under recoil.
This is the small pin version, so it fits most standard MIL-SPEC lowers with .154 diameter trigger and hammer pin holes, including AR-15, AR-10, and LR-308 rifles. If your rifle is not a Colt, or it is a Colt made before 1991 or after 2009, you need the small pin, which is this one. If you are unsure, push an existing pin out far enough to measure it: .154 is small and .172 is large.
Not at all, and that is the whole point of the drop-in cassette design. You clear the rifle, remove the old fire control parts, drop the self-contained unit into the lower, and secure it with the included anti-walk pins. Most people knock it out in around 15 minutes, though CMC recommends a gunsmith if you are not comfortable working on your rifle.

That fixed setup is actually a benefit, since every unit ships with a consistent, proven break rather than something you have to tune yourself.
