Cimarron didn't work from drawings on this one. The company built its replica off an actual antique 1873 in its own collection, and that attention shows in the finished product.
The pre-war frame wears a rich color case hardened finish that plays beautifully against the standard blue barrel and cylinder, and the one-piece walnut grip gives it that unmistakable plow-handle feel. Underneath the period looks, the action is where this revolver earns its keep. Cimarron tunes these to roughly a three pound trigger pull with polished internal working surfaces, so the hammer draws back with crisp, satisfying clicks and the trigger breaks clean.
