It would without the brake, but the included removable side-baffle muzzle brake does a lot of heavy lifting and brings recoil down to a very manageable level. The stock also has an integrated recoil pad to soften things further. If you prefer, the 5/8×24 threads accept a suppressor, which also tames recoil nicely.
