There is a reason the Modern Precision Rifle turned heads when Christensen Arms first rolled it out, and this .223 Rem version might be the most fun way to get into one. You get all the hardware from the bigger MPR chassis guns, scaled down to a cartridge that is cheap to feed, easy on the shoulder, and plenty accurate for punching steel way past what most people expect from a .223. The 16-inch barrel keeps the whole rifle at 41.5 inches, and the folding stock shrinks it down even further for the truck or the pack.
The backbone here is a 7075 billet aluminum chassis with a free-floating carbon fiber M-LOK handguard up front. The folding stock locks up tight with a locking hinge and Magnelock technology, and both the carbon fiber cheek riser and length of pull adjust to fit you properly behind the glass. Christensen even machined the left side of the mag well lower-profile so prone reloads with the AICS-pattern magazines go smoother. The grip is standard AR pattern, so swapping in your favorite takes about two minutes.
The barrel is Christensen's 416R stainless blank wrapped in aerograde carbon fiber, cut with a match chamber, 1:8 twist, and a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle wearing a removable side-baffle brake in Black Nitride. That twist rate stabilizes heavier match bullets in the 69 to 77 grain range, which is exactly what you want when you stretch a .223 out past 500 yards. Every MPR ships with Christensen's Sub-MOA guarantee, so the accuracy is on paper, not just in the marketing.
A TriggerTech flat-shoe trigger, spiral fluted bolt with an oversized knob, and an integrated 20 MOA rail round out the package, so it is optic-ready out of the box. The MPR feeds from AICS-pattern detachable box magazines and ships with one 5-round mag. Since AICS is the most common precision rifle magazine pattern out there, finding higher capacity spares in .223 is easy from brands like MDT and Accurate-Mag.
