The Charles Daly 101 Compact is a single-shot, break-open 20 gauge with a 3 inch chamber, a 20 inch barrel, and a shortened stock sized for youth and smaller-framed hunters. Crack it open, drop a shell in, close it up, and you are ready. That kind of simplicity is exactly why single shots remain a favorite for teaching new hunters, and why plenty of experienced folks keep one behind the truck seat for good measure.
This version of the 101 Compact leans hard into turkey duty. The barrel is threaded for the Beretta/Benelli Mobil choke pattern and ships with an extra full (XXF) turkey tube, so you can start patterning tight loads right away. Up top you get a fiber optic front sight that stands out against dark timber, plus a Picatinny rail on the receiver for a red dot if that is more your speed. Pair it with modern TSS loads and this little 20 gauge hits well above its weight on spring birds.
At roughly five pounds, the 101 Compact is the kind of gun you forget you are carrying until it is time to use it. The synthetic stock and forend wear Mossy Oak Bottomland camo, a pattern that disappears against tree bark and flooded timber, and the olive drab finish on the metal keeps shine to a minimum. A manual safety keeps operation straightforward for newer hunters still building habits.

Yes. The receiver has a Picatinny rail on top, so most micro red dots or their mounts will clamp straight on. That is a popular setup for turkey hunting with tight chokes, since a dot makes it easier to keep dense patterns centered on the bird's head at distance.
It has a 3 inch chamber, so full-length magnum and TSS turkey loads are fair game. Keep in mind this is a light gun at around five pounds, so heavy 3 inch loads will let you know they went off. Many hunters run TSS in lighter payloads to get serious pattern density without much punishment.
