Walk up to almost any range and the first thing you'll hear from the rangemaster is "eyes and ears?" This Champion combo lets you answer yes to both without hunting down two separate purchases. You get a set of passive over-the-head earmuffs rated at 26 dB NRR plus a pair of ballistic clear shooting glasses, all in one kit that runs black and gray.
The 26 dB noise reduction rating is plenty for most handgun, rifle, and shotgun work, whether you're at an outdoor bay or a covered indoor lane. The muffs use a padded headband and cushioned ear cups that stay comfortable through a longer session, and they adjust and collapse flat so they don't hog space in your range bag between trips. It's a straightforward passive design, meaning no batteries to fuss with and nothing to switch on before you shoot.
The glasses are the standout here. The one-piece clear lens wraps around for wide, unobstructed coverage, and it's rated to military standard MIL-PRF-31013 3.5.1.1 for ballistic resistance, which puts impact protection at roughly four times the ANSI Z87.1 benchmark. Clear lenses keep things simple for indoor ranges and low-light mornings, and the scratch-resistant coating helps them hold up to normal handling.
Champion built the frame with a molded nose piece and slip-resistant temples, so the glasses stay put when you're leaning into a stance or sweating on a hot day. One thing worth knowing up front: these are designed to be worn on their own, not fitted over prescription eyeglasses, so keep that in mind if you wear specs.
This kit is a smart pickup for a new shooter putting together their first range setup, a range that keeps loaner gear on hand, or anyone who just needs a solid backup set to toss in the truck. It covers the basics well and won't overcomplicate things.
For most shooting, yes. The 26 dB rating handles typical handgun, rifle, and shotgun noise at both indoor and outdoor ranges. If you're spending a lot of time next to larger calibers or muzzle brakes, a lot of folks double up by adding foam plugs underneath the muffs for extra coverage.
No, these are designed to be worn on their own rather than over prescription frames. If you wear glasses and need eye protection at the range, look for a dedicated over-specs style ballistic pair instead. This combo is best for anyone who doesn't need to layer eyewear.
No batteries required. These are passive muffs, so they block sound through padding and seal alone with nothing to turn on or charge. That keeps things simple and means they're always ready to go when you grab them out of the bag.
Yes. The clear one-piece lens meets military standard MIL-PRF-31013 3.5.1.1 for ballistic resistance, which is a step above standard safety eyewear. That works out to around four times the impact protection of the ANSI Z87.1 rating you'll see on basic shop glasses.
