The retention comes from a solid locking friction fit that you can dial in with the tension screw, so you get that reassuring hold without fighting the mag on every draw. The hardware is treated with salt bath nitriding for extra strength and to keep rust and corrosion at bay, which matters when a carrier lives against your body all day and takes on sweat.
