The Carlson's 04521 is the big one in the lineup, a 19.25-inch blued steel tube that bumps your Remington 12 gauge up to 12 rounds total with 2-3/4 inch shells and one in the chamber. It threads right onto your magazine tube in place of the factory cap, so you're not gunsmithing anything or cutting into the gun. If you run a Remington 870, 1100, 11-87, Versa Max, or V3, this one is built to drop right in.
Carlson's includes the spring and a base clamp with a swivel stud, which gives you a spot to run a quick-detachable sling swivel later on if you want one (the QD swivel itself isn't in the box). Worth knowing up front: this particular model uses your factory follower rather than shipping with the high-visibility orange one that some of the shorter Carlson's extensions include. The tube, the spring, and the clamp cover everything you need to get it mounted and feeding.
Here's the one thing folks trip on. Newer Remington magazine tubes have small dimples or tabs stamped near the muzzle end that keep the factory spring in place. Those need to be filed down or flattened before this extension will feed rounds all the way through. It's a quick job with a small file and takes most people a few minutes, but skip it and the spring hangs up on those tabs. Older Wingmasters and similar guns often don't have them at all, so plenty of installs go on in under five minutes.
That extra length lines this up nicely for 3-gun, tactical training, and home defense setups where a fast, deep reload matters. The solid blued steel build holds up to hard use and matches the look of a factory Remington barrel and receiver. It's a straightforward, no-nonsense upgrade that does exactly what it says without adding weird bulk or plastic to your gun.

The 04521 is built for the Remington 870, 1100, 11-87, Versa Max, and V3 in 12 gauge. It is a 12 gauge only part, so it won't work on 20 gauge Remingtons. Carlson's designed it around these specific models, so fit and function are dialed in for that group.
