This is Carlson's flush cylinder tube for 12 gauge shotguns running the Winchester, Browning Invector, and Mossberg 500 thread pattern. It's the most open constriction in the lineup, measuring .730 at the muzzle, which means it lets the shot column leave the barrel with almost no squeeze at all. That translates to a wide, spread-out pattern that opens up fast, so it's a natural pick for close-quarters shooting, home defense buckshot, and anytime you want your pellets covering ground in a hurry.
Carlson's builds these from 17-4 heat-treated stainless steel, the same corrosion-resistant material they use across the whole flush mount line. That stronger stainless holds up to steel, lead, and Hevi-Shot alike, and it won't pit or corrode on you the way softer factory tubes sometimes do. The tube sits flush with the muzzle so nothing sticks out past the barrel, keeping the clean factory look while giving you better pattern control than the stock choke.
Cylinder is as open as it gets on a screw-in tube. There's essentially zero constriction, so your pattern blooms wide at short range. If you're shooting slugs through a smoothbore, running buckshot for defense, or working birds at spitting distance, this is the tube that keeps your pattern from being too tight to be forgiving. Keep in mind that steel loads pattern tighter than lead through the same constriction, so this open choke gives you room to play with both.
The knurled end lets you thread it in and back it out by hand in most cases, and the constriction is laser-etched right on the side so you always know what's in the barrel without pulling it. Before you buy, it's worth checking the interchange guide to confirm your barrel uses the standard Winchester/Browning Invector thread and not the Invector Plus system.
