That's a 3 MOA dot with motion-activated wake, automatic brightness adjustment, and a CR2032 battery rated around 60,000 hours, so you can spend your time shooting instead of fiddling with buttons.
The numbers here make sense for match work. You get a 5 inch barrel, an 8.1 inch overall length, and a 29.5 ounce weight that keeps the gun legal for IDPA, IPSC, and USPSA divisions without any restrictions. The slide is ported and aggressively serrated front and rear, the frame carries a full 1913 Picatinny rail, and the flared external mag-well makes reloads under a timer far more forgiving. With the MO1 mounted, it's a natural fit for optics divisions like Carry Optics, and you can pull the dot and run irons if your division requires it.
The MO1 ships on the pistol from the factory, so you just need to confirm zero at the range. It's a 3 MOA micro reflex sight on the Shield RMSc footprint with motion-activated wake, automatic brightness adjustment, and a common CR2032 battery rated for roughly 60,000 hours. It also sits low enough to co-witness with the factory iron sights.
Mechanically they're the same pistol. The standard Rival wears a grey finish with gold accents, while the Dark Side is an all-black setup. This particular package also includes the MeCanik MO1 red dot, which the base model doesn't ship with.
You can. The Rival uses Canik's optic plate system, which supports popular footprints like the Trijicon RMR, Delta Point Pro, and Vortex Venom in addition to the Shield RMSc pattern the MO1 uses. That gives you plenty of room to upgrade or change optics down the road without buying a new slide.
