The Canik METE SFx is what happens when a manufacturer actually listens to the people buying their guns. Building on the already well-regarded TP9 series, Canik went back to the drawing board with real shooter feedback and came out with something that punches well above its price bracket. The 5.2-inch barrel stretches the sight radius for better natural accuracy, the trigger breaks cleanly with a lightning-fast reset, and the whole platform is designed to move fast whether you're punching paper, running a local USPSA match, or just getting serious time behind a quality pistol.
The grip on the METE SFx got a meaningful upgrade over previous Canik generations. There's aggressive texturing on the front strap and sides, a redesigned beavertail that fits the web of the hand better, and a double undercut trigger guard that lets you ride high and lock in your support hand. The low-profile ambidextrous slide stop stays out of the way during strings of fire but is right there when you need it. Swappable backstraps let you dial in the fit regardless of hand size, and the integrally flared magwell makes reloads smooth without any fumbling.
The METE SFx slide is cut for direct-mount micro optics including the Shield RMSc and Trijicon RMR footprints, with two adapter plates included in the box for other popular footprints. The iron sights co-witness with a mounted red dot, so you're not flying blind during the transition. The ported and serrated slide includes both front and rear cocking serrations, and the steel guide rod is a notable upgrade over the plastic units found in older models. Accuracy testing by American Rifleman found five-shot groups averaging around 2.48 inches at 25 yards with iron sights, which is genuinely impressive for a factory striker-fired pistol at this price point.

The METE SFx slide is cut to accept the Shield RMSc and Trijicon RMR footprints directly without a plate. Two optic adapter plates are included in the box to accommodate other popular micro red dot footprints. Canik also notes that serial numbers after 26BY00001 feature an updated RMR and RMS/RMSc compatible footprint, so it's worth checking your serial number if optic compatibility is a priority.
The METE SFx trigger is one of its most talked-about features. Out of the box it breaks around 3 lbs. 9 oz. with a very short, positive reset measured between 1/16 and 3/32 of an inch. Recoil Magazine called it one of the best factory triggers on an out-of-the-box polymer pistol, drawing comparisons to a 1911 feel. The nickel-coated internal components contribute to a smooth, consistent pull from the first round to the last.
