The Caldwell AR Bipod Prone is a compact support built for low-position shooting off any AR-style rifle. It snaps onto a Picatinny rail with a quick-attach system, so you can mount or pull it in seconds and get set up without fuss. Machined from anodized aluminum with glass-filled polymer parts, it shrugs off weather and stays rust-free, and the whole thing tips the scales at only about 10.5 ounces, lighter than a lot of competing prone bipods.
Where this one earns its keep is movement. Built-in pan and cant let you track a target and level the rifle without picking up or shifting the legs. You get around 18 degrees of cant in either direction and roughly 20 degrees of left-right rotation, which is plenty for following moving targets or squaring up on uneven ground. The internal spring system stays low profile and quiet, so there is no loud snap when you deploy it in the field.
The legs adjust from about 8-3/4 inches up to 12 inches, putting it right in the sweet spot for prone and low bench work. The leg mechanism locks in fast with no wobble, so once you find your height it holds. When you are done, the legs fold forward and tuck out of the way, and the underside carries a swivel stud so you can still run a sling with the bipod attached.
