Cadex built this platform around a patented barrel change system that torques the barrel from the breech side using a dedicated tool, keeping the traditional barrel-to-action thread interface intact. The payoff is what long range folks care about most: when you pull a barrel and reinstall it, your zero comes back with the lowest point of impact shift of any multi-caliber system out there. One captive screw drops the detachable base, so converting between short and long action calibers happens in minutes, not a trip to the gunsmith.
This configuration comes chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 24 inch Bartlein match grade barrel wearing a black DLC finish. Cadex specs 5R single point cut rifling with an optimized 1:8 twist, and the muzzle is threaded so you can run the MX1 brake or step up to a suppressor. Feeding comes from a 10 round AICS pattern magazine for 10+1 on board, and the swappable magazine sleeve system means the chassis can adapt to other mag types down the road.
The Kraken chassis is machined from aircraft grade aluminum with a V-shaped bedding block that locks the action down with zero movement and no bedding compound required. The reverse-folding buttstock adjusts at multiple points without tools, shields the bolt handle when folded, and locks up rattle free. A full length 20 MOA top rail carries your glass plus clip-on night vision or thermal, the free floating fore-end doubles as a mirage mitigation tube over the barrel, and M-LOK real estate handles bipods and accessories. The DX2 Evo trigger is a standout too, converting between single and double stage and adjusting from 1.5 to 2.5 pounds.

The Kraken keeps a traditional threaded barrel-to-action fit but uses a dedicated tool that torques the barrel from the breech side. Because the barrel is torqued the same way every time, removing and reinstalling the same barrel produces the smallest point of impact shift of any multi-caliber rifle on the market. Caliber swaps can be done at home in a matter of minutes.
Yes, that is the whole point of the platform. A single captive screw secures the detachable base, and swapping it along with the appropriate bolt, barrel, and magazine sleeve lets you move between short action rounds like 6.5 Creedmoor and long action magnums. Conversion kits and additional barrels are sold separately.
This 6.5 Creedmoor configuration feeds from AICS-pattern magazines and ships with a 10 rounder for 10+1 capacity. Cadex also offers interchangeable magazine sleeves, so the chassis can be adapted to fit most common magazine types if your setup calls for something different.
It comes with the Cadex DX2 Evo, which you can run as either a single stage or double stage trigger and switch between the two yourself. Pull weight adjusts from 1.5 to 2.5 pounds, and the detachable base gives you easy access to the trigger group for tuning without pulling the action or losing your zero.
