Cadex built its name on rifles that get issued to professionals, and the CDX-30 Lite in .308 Win is where a lot of that pedigree lands for the rest of us. At the heart of it is the CDX-30 Guardian action, CNC and wire EDM machined from 416 stainless steel, running a three-lug bolt with a short 60 degree throw and a Sako style extractor. The bolt is fluted to trim weight and the whole action cycles with the kind of smoothness you expect at this level. Cadex mates it to a 24 inch Bartlein barrel with their signature 1.300 inch straight taper contour, fluted for cooling and balance, with single point cut 5R rifling in a 1:11.25 twist. The threaded muzzle wears an MX1 brake, and you can swap that for a suppressor whenever you want to shoot quiet.
The Lite Strike chassis is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum billet and finished in a non-reflective coating that shrugs off field use. The buttstock folds flat over the bolt handle for compact transport, locks up rattle free, and adjusts for length of pull, cheek height, and recoil pad height without touching a tool. Up front you get a full length 20 MOA top rail that runs across the fore-end, ready for a big scope plus clip-on night vision or thermal, along with M-LOK slots and rail sections at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock for a bipod and accessories. The oversized trigger guard and mag release work fine with gloves on, which matters more than people think on a cold range day.
The DX2 Evo trigger is one of the better factory units out there. It ships as a two-stage but converts to single stage in minutes, and pull weight adjusts from 1.5 to 2.5 pounds. Feeding comes from a 10-round detachable magazine, and the detachable bottom metal lets you access the trigger for tuning without pulling the action and losing your zero. For PRS matches, long-range steel, or duty work, this .308 is set up to do it all.
Yes. The Bartlein barrel comes with a threaded muzzle wearing the included MX1 brake, so you can remove the brake and mount a suppressor directly. The barrel is also fluted for faster cooling, which helps during longer strings with a can attached.
It can. The DX2 Evo ships as a two-stage trigger but the user can convert it to single stage without sending it off to a gunsmith. Pull weight is adjustable between 1.5 and 2.5 pounds, and the detachable bottom metal gives you trigger access without removing the action or losing zero.
The buttstock folds over the bolt handle side of the receiver, which shortens the rifle considerably and protects the bolt handle in a case or pack. The folding mechanism locks up rattle free and is easy to work with gloves on. It also adjusts tool-free for length of pull, cheek height, and recoil pad position.
Cadex builds these to a sub-MOA standard, and the single point cut 5R Bartlein barrel is a big part of why. The 1:11.25 twist stabilizes the 168 to 178 grain match loads most people run in .308. Pair it with quality glass on the 20 MOA rail and it will hold its own well past 800 yards.
