This Buffalo Bore Personal Defense load takes the proven 9mm +P+ platform and optimizes it for real-world defensive situations. You get 115-grain jacketed hollow points screaming downrange at 1400 feet per second with 500 foot-pounds of muzzle energy from a standard test barrel.
What makes this round stand out is the flash-suppressed powder. Most self-defense incidents happen in low light conditions, and the last thing you need after firing is temporary blindness from your own muzzle flash. Buffalo Bore engineered this load specifically to minimize that threat while maintaining the velocity and expansion you need.
The hollow point design provides controlled expansion paired with brass casing reliability. These rounds feed reliably through modern 9mm pistols and come packaged in convenient 20-round boxes. When you're stocking a carry gun or planning for home defense, Buffalo Bore's consistency and real-world testing backing these rounds makes a noticeable difference.
Like all Buffalo Bore ammunition, velocities are pulled from actual firearms in use, not laboratory test barrels. This is the load that serious carriers depend on.
This +P+ ammunition is designed for modern 9mm pistols that are rated for +P or +P+ pressures. It's your responsibility to verify your specific pistol can handle +P+ loads before use. Check your firearm's manual or contact the manufacturer if you're unsure.
Most defensive encounters happen in low-light conditions. When you fire, a bright muzzle flash can temporarily blind you and destroy your night vision right when you need it most. The flash-suppressed powder dramatically reduces that flash while maintaining velocity and stopping power.
+P+ ammunition runs at higher pressure levels than standard or +P loads, which results in higher velocities and energy downrange. This comes with increased recoil and wear on your firearm, so make sure your gun is rated for it before carrying or shooting it.
Buffalo Bore rates this load at 1400 fps from a standard test barrel, generating about 500 foot-pounds of energy. Real-world velocities from your specific pistol will vary based on barrel length and other factors.
The brass casings are reloadable, but Buffalo Bore does not specifically mark this load as reloadable or non-reloadable in their standard listing. Check the packaging or contact Buffalo Bore directly if reloading is important to your use.
While it's designed for personal defense, you can practice with it if you want. The cost per round is higher than target ammunition, so most people save this for carry and use cheaper full-metal-jacket loads for range work.
