If you're running a SureFire Fast-Attach can or one of B&T's ROTEX-SF suppressors, this device lets you go from bare muzzle to suppressed in seconds without swapping hardware.
B&T made its name building suppressors and precision hardware for military and police units across Europe, and that background shows here. The Assault 3-Prong is machined from heat-treated stainless steel and coated in DLC, a diamond-like carbon finish that shrugs off carbon fouling, corrosion, and general abuse better than standard black oxide or phosphate. It's the kind of coating you usually see on high-end bolt carriers, and it gives the device a deep, subdued black that won't shine under light.
The whole unit measures 2.65 inches with about 1.67 inches extending past the muzzle, and it weighs in at 3.3 ounces. The 1/2×28 pitch is the standard threading on AR-15 barrels chambered in 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington, and it's also found on plenty of other rifles and pistols in the same calibers. If your barrel has factory 1/2×28 threads, this device will spin right on. Just make sure you're mounting it on a 5.56/.223 bore, since that's what it's rated for.
Some three-prong designs are known for a slight tuning fork ring, and any open tine device can produce a bit of that. B&T's hybrid design and heat-treated stainless construction keep it well controlled, and most people never notice it during live fire. The trade-off is worth it since open tines are among the most effective flash suppression designs available.
DLC, short for diamond-like carbon, is one of the toughest finishes applied to firearm components.
