The Meprolight Tru-Dot sight set brings proven low-light performance to your Browning Hi-Power Mark III with maintenance-free tritium illumination. These fixed dovetail sights deliver the same reliability trusted by military and law enforcement operators worldwide.
The three-dot sight picture stays consistent whether you're shooting in bright daylight or complete darkness. Green tritium vials glow on their own without batteries or charging, and the white reflective surrounds amplify their brightness for fast target acquisition. Day or night, you're looking at identical aiming dots in the same position, which builds muscle memory and confidence during high-stress situations.
These sights fit Browning Hi-Power Mark III models with factory dovetail cuts on both the front and rear. Installation is straightforward for Mark III pistols with original dovetail cuts. If you're working with modified slides or non-Mark III models, contact a gunsmith first, as dovetail specifications vary significantly between Hi-Power generations. Unlike some other sight systems, these won't snag on gear or bump into things due to their fixed profile.
Each sight contains premium-grade tritium vials made in Switzerland and rated for up to 15 years of useful illumination under all weather conditions. The sights are drop-proof and shockproof with a steel construction and black finish. Meprolight backs these with a 12-year usable light warranty to the original purchaser, covering the tritium's performance and brightness over time.
These are specifically designed for Browning Hi-Power Mark III models with factory dovetail cuts. Older Hi-Power models use different dovetail specifications and may require gunsmith work to modify the slide. Check your pistol's manual or contact a gunsmith familiar with Hi-Power sights to confirm compatibility.
The tritium in these sights will remain luminous for up to 15 years under normal conditions. After that period, the sights will gradually fade but remain functional with daylight use. Meprolight warrants the tritium to 12 years from manufacture, covering brightness during the primary useful lifespan.
Installation requires press tools to remove old sights and install the new ones. For Mark III pistols with original, unmodified dovetails, many people have success with professional gunsmiths. Improper installation can damage the sights or pistol, so we recommend working with someone experienced in Hi-Power sight installation.
Night sights sacrifice some of the refined daylight sight picture for low-light versatility. The tritium vials appear white in bright conditions and glow green in darkness. If you primarily shoot in daylight, traditional irons might feel slightly clearer, but night sights give you a reliable aiming reference in any lighting condition.
