Description

If you've been running factory two-piece bases on your Browning A-Bolt long action and wrestling with ring spacing or eye relief, this EGW rail clears that up in a hurry. It's a single piece of 6061 T6 extruded aluminum machined in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, finished in a clean matte black anodizing, and cut with Picatinny slots down the full length so you can slide your rings exactly where your scope and your neck want them. At roughly 2 ounces, it adds almost nothing to the rifle while giving you a far more versatile and rigid footing than the stock bases.

What the A-Bolt Long Action 0 MOA Rail Fits

This one is built specifically for the standard Browning A-Bolt and A-Bolt II long action rifles chambered in the usual long action rounds like .25-06, .270 Win, .280 Rem, and .30-06. It does not fit the AB3, the X-Bolt, or the A-Bolt Mountain Titanium in .300 WSM, so if you've got one of those, you'll want a different base. EGW recommends measuring the center-to-center hole spacing on your receiver to confirm it matches the 3.86 inch center spread before you order, since it never hurts to double-check.

Picatinny Versatility on the A-Bolt Rail

Because the cross slots run the entire 7.064 inch length, you've got real flexibility with ring placement, whether you're mounting a compact hunting scope or a longer tactical optic. It accepts both Picatinny and Weaver style rings, which opens up just about any ring on the shelf. The milled center channel trims weight and, in many cases, leaves your factory iron sights usable underneath.

Zero MOA and Why It Matters

The 0 MOA design keeps your scope dead level with the bore, which is what you want for typical hunting and range work inside about 500 yards. If you were reaching way out past that, a canted base makes more sense, but for the way most folks use an A-Bolt this flat setup gives you the most usable elevation adjustment in your scope. EGW suggests torquing the screws to 20 inch-pounds with a drop of blue Loctite for a mount that stays put season after season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this EGW rail fit my Browning AB3 or X-Bolt?

No. This mount is made only for the standard Browning A-Bolt and A-Bolt II long action rifles. The AB3, X-Bolt, and A-Bolt Mountain Titanium in .300 WSM all use different footprints, so you'll need a base designed for those models.

What does 0 MOA mean and is it right for me?

A 0 MOA rail sits flat and level with the bore, with no built-in cant. That's the go-to choice for hunting and range shooting inside roughly 500 yards, since it leaves your scope's elevation adjustment centered. If you were shooting much longer distances you'd want a 20 MOA base instead.

What rings work with this Picatinny rail?

The rail is cut with standard Picatinny cross slots, so it accepts both Picatinny and Weaver style rings. That gives you a huge selection of rings to pick from, and the full-length slots let you set your scope exactly where your eye relief needs it.

Does it come with everything I need to install it?

Yes, the mounting screws and a T-10 bit are included in the box. EGW recommends torquing to 20 inch-pounds with a drop of blue Loctite to keep it locked down. It's worth measuring your receiver's hole spacing against the 3.86 inch center spread before installing just to confirm fit.
